Ok guys Getting new tires this weekend. Either going to get some nitto 555s or the new hankooks. Not sure.

Went to the discount tire in burleson at lunch. Nittos are 224 each installed.
Hankooks are 177 each installed.

Price dose have some effect but not much.

Ive heard good about the hankooks but not alot.

Terry your discount do any better? I was going to call but got lazy. Who should i talk to?

I will not do d/rs in the rear. I do WAY to much driving. A set of drs would only last me a few months. I beleive they are a good tire but not for a True daily driver like mine. Im always taking road trips to ft hood and now austin.

But my all terrains are pretty much slicks now.

I plan on a nice big smokie burnout if anyone wants to get a video.

I have 555's and I havent seen any posts of those that dont like them once they get them.
on the Hankooks, when I researched them, there were some posts that they fell apart when you smoked em a bit much.. but if you drive granny all the time, I guess it wouldnt matter.. although the tread pattern is kinda cool.

I called Chris up at the Burleson store about 2 months ago about some new tires. He remembered who I was from two years ago from the last set I bought there. He gave me a better price than what you said they told you on the nittos over the phone, and told me he might could do better when I actually came in.

I'll bet he can come close to the price Terry's guy gives. It may be worth a call to him and mention what another discount guy is selling them for and if he can do anything.

I don't know if this would get anybody in trouble though...

Check my discount tire sticky. I think it is 200 now, all manufacturers have raised prices due to fuel and transportation increases the last year. My Discount goes out of their way to cater to our Lightnings, lets not divide them among other stores trying to save 5 bucks. No other Discount stocks 3 sets of L rubber and DR's for us like Brandt does:nono: .

I got my DR's from Brandt a few months ago, they got me in and out in not too bad of a time, even wiped off the wheels to get the chrome to shine

I have the 555's and I dont like them. They are slip and slide all over the place. I'm going with the F1's or the 555r's next.

I wasn't meaning to try and divide any business, and wasn't mentioning the other one to save a buck. If anything it would probably cost a little more. It's just that I've bought 5 sets of tires and one set of rims from this guy over the past 5 years that I've lived here in Texas and he had always done me right. I know how much customer loyality means to you, and I honor that with all the people that do me right. For example, no one has ever touched my truck outside of the dealer for warranty, the alignment shop, and Discount Tire except for Terry.

If I went and bought the tires from Brandt, it wouldn't be that bad to make the trip once to buy the tires, but every time I had to get them balanced and rotated; that drive is a little far to do that every time, so I would end up having to face the guy I should have bought my tires from when I went in for a re-balancing, and some how make up an excuse why I didn't buy the tires from him in the first place because I wanted to save a buck.

just set it up for 2morow. Prices did go up, which is understandable. 200 a tire not to bad.
