I wanna paint my SC and Plenum black and polish the lips and wording on it. Basically look like this

i know I will need a high temp paint for the parts. But my question is... how do I prep for paint? And after its all preped and painted, will I need a sealer on soome type? And what would be the steps for "polishing" would I just start out with a 200 grit and work my way down to a 1000 grit wet sand or something like that?

i know a couple guys have polished before, so figure someone will know.... I did a search but without much luck, and I didnt PM people cuz i thought this could be a good educational thread later down the road

that paint job does look good, it seems to me like wasted money on something nobody will ever generally see, i'd rather spend the money on go fast parts, interior mods, or something on the outside that sets it apart

Agree, key is to get the surface really, really, really, clean. Get it?

Then prime and paint. Use the high temp block primer and paint. 3 to 6 thin coats, with good dry time. Wait till it gets warmer.

I did mine with high temp spray paint and clear and did little prep as well as my plenum. It would be alot more shiney expecpt i didnt let it fully dry and got a call to go to the track :rll: The plenum dose shine like no other.

Im going to be redoing my blower this weekend or next. If you want scott bring it over.

edit. i wouldnt waste my time doing the polish ribs. You cant see them that much with all the crap that surrounds the blower.

IMHO I think that the small details is what sets something apart from the rest.
