Saw this posted on svtperformance.com-

On Saturday February 5th Temple Academy Dragway will be running a Mustang Shootout and Lightning Shootout. This race started out as a small get together, but so far this looks like it's going to be a pretty big event. We even have some groups from Houston and Dallas coming down to participate.

Vehicles in each class must be street legal, with current registration and inspection. Anything else goes as long as it meets the minimum IHRA safety requirements. Racing format will be ET bracket, and we will be running the classes seperately (i.e. Mustangs vs. Mustangs and Lightnings vs. Lightnings). If anyone would be interested in running a special heads-up format as well, just send me an e-mail greg@templeacademy.com so that I can gauge the interest.

Entry Fee: $10

Winner: $100 + Trophy
Runner Up: $50 + Trophy
Low ET: $100

Gates open at 2pm, time trials begin at 2:30pm and eliminations begin around 5:30pm. Gate admission is $10 per person, $5 for kids 6-10 and $5 with a Military ID.

Thanks,

Greg Duffield

I'd say you have a good chance of winning. I haven't heard of too many Lightnings heading down there this Saturday. $100 and a trophy sounds good to me.

Yeah, what a crappy turn out! I hated having to run one match right after the other! The incoming rain didn't help though. My truck never even got cool enough to run good! i ran at full operating temperature all day. All I could manage was a 12.86 spinning my a$$ off! I think my 60 ft. was a 1.97 or something like that. They should really spray more VHT down there!
