Lightningfest is the very next weekend after it. It might be a good idea for some of you married fellows to do some things with your families that weekend, then going to Lightningfest won't seem so selfish to your spouses.....;) .

Here is an open invite to anyone going to FFW-Ennis. Stop by and see me. Don't make me talk to all those yankees coming from NJ and NY.
The plan is to take one of the spaces under JDM's big tent this weekend. I'm gonna see if I can make a dent in the competition and go a couple of rounds. (trying to not really say that I want to win the whole F'in thing.....)
Wish me luck! :tu: Michael

LOL....there aren't going to be many Yankees there. Don Justice is more southern than we are. Jim, Shawn and Jim Jr. will be about the only Northerners you get to see. I believe there will be several from Houston and several from San Antonio and Austin area. I don't know how many of them are doing TT though. The Houston fellers almost always do....and there are a few of them that can bracket race pretty good.
I am even thinking about it....I would like to see Don Justice, Jim D and crew. I have spent almost 2 years racing with them. My little show of protest has been tough on me....at least from the aspect of not seeing racing buds.
Besides...I am not afraid to say it...I wouldn't mind winning at Ennis either...:D .
We will see...I haven't made up my mind about it yet.

I knew you would want to go. You can still have your morals, cause I think FFW did the wrong thing with the trans brake situation, but you can take their money just as well as anyone else.
Come out and lets have some fun with it!

I received a phone call today telling me "Justice" has been served...LOL...Don Justice that is. Seems Don pretty much has it wrapped up. D. Gates has not done crap since the Ohio race where the whole transbrake issue came out. Seems he can't cut decent lights.... . If the info I got was right, all Don Justice has to do is qualify...and the season championship is his. I can't think of anyone I would say deserves it more.
Like I said...I haven't made up my mind about it yet, but the news about Don has caused me to at least consider it.

That is the same thing i read on the FFW forums. Don Justice should have it wrapped up, as long as he shows up for the final event. Plus Jim won the Bristol event. This weekend should be fun. Pack your stuff and come on....

Oh.......and you should go because I was going to ask to borrow your fan and generator if you did not. And if you had the front runners still, well I was going to ask for those too...:D
Who else here has a set of front runners I might be able to borrow?

You should have bought the weld fronts I had for sale:hammer: :hammer: :hammer: . You cheap arse.
My wheels are all 15", so you couldn't use them anyway.
I am going.........Jim called me yesterday morning. If I don't go, I will be made to disapear:eek: . Since I don't want to become part of a sidewalk in Jersey...I am going.
I will be there Friday morning...I will be entering TT and QF. Maybe I can win and recover some of the money I spent earlier in the year.
See you there.

I think Michael is the only big dawg left...I haven't bracket raced since the Ohio event. You should at least consider it...just hit the gas when the third yellow comes on. You might just win the thing.
Post up if you decide to enter...I will hold a place under the tent, beside True bLue and I.

Yep...but it is good for a year. So it will get you through the Houston event next year. Who knows, you may like it and want to do some other events.
It cost 35 bucks to buy the membership and then the entry fee is 100 bucks.
You could also choose the Street Ford class and not buy a membership. It is also less entry fee. It is 85 I believe. That one get's you 2 days of racing plus several time trial passes. You also would be racing other guys that don't do this that much. The prize in SF is a trophy.

I am not sure how that works. I have always entered in the event. To get through the pit gate, they might make you pay entry fees to something. I have been told by a few guys that they entered the car show and parked in the car show area to get better parking...LOL. The area that the Lightning owners park in is under a big arse tent that JDM rents. It is usually filled up by Saturday, but who knows, this year might be slower. You can give it a shot though. I would hold you a spot, but if I was to keep a racer from parking there and they see you just use the spot to park, it might make me an unpopular guy... . Screw all that...enter TT or Street ford and just race.:nana2

No, not yet Steve-O, apparently Hans is running behind. I hear he is pushing the "little jobs" street engines behind the BIG $$$$ pro mod engines.
I'll be glad when this is over. Of course I dd have to mis Fun Ford this year due to the passing and funeral service for my father-in-law held Sat.
I have only missed 2 since 1994, in '98 for moms heart surgery and this year. Its just as well tho, since I went home to visit family in Alabama and the luck I had and $$$ I had to spend. That, along with FFW and Lfest would have wiped out the bank account ,not to mention the $$$ I'm dishing out on restoring the 'Vette. But you know you will know when its up & going. :)

Just got home from the track. Rocks is still there for the end of the year awards presentation. Ron ended as a runner up to Paul Gamino, the same guy who I red-lighted against.
Overall, this weekend was a blast. Ron, Howard, and I had a pretty fun time sitting under the tent. And I will never speak poorly about Jim (JDM) just because of the fact that I could not have imagined that event sitting out in the hot sun (Jim provides the tent for all the Tough Truck class). It was right at 100 deg. under the tent for most of the day today.
For those of you who stopped by and talked, it was good to see you.
Overall, I think Ron ended up sixth in the overall points standings for Tough Truck, so congrats to him.
Can't wait for next year.......:tu:

Way to go Timknana . Congrats to you:banana: . Sorry we missed you.
It was hoter than hell again today. Michael was running some kick arse passes, but the damned red light got him. Does anyone remember the scene in saving private ryan where they let the German captive loose instead of killing him. Then he comes back in a later scene and stabs one guy in the throat and shoots tom hanks. Well....Michael let Paul Gamino loose which allowed Paul to come back later and kill me:eek: .....
When i lost in the final round, I started out blaming my truck because it hesitated when I smacked the go peddle down. This caused my light to suck, which left me having to break out to catch Paul. After thinking about it for a few hours, I have decide it is Michaels fault. That's right....if Michael had of killed the prisoner, I would have survived..... .
Since Paul and I agreed to split the purse, I didn't loose any money in direct winnings. But I figure you owe me around 600 bucks in contengencies. For your convenience Michael, I will accept pay pal:rolleyes: .

Thanks Dennis. I suppose, on hindsight, I shouldn't have lost my cool and skipped 3 races. I was expecting them to shut down the program and wait for me to be happy:rolleyes: . It didn't happen that way....I was the only one that I punished. Oh well....at least they told me they missed me when they came to Dallas.
I will most likely be running it next year. I will take the damn truck this time.... I be getting better at this bracket thange.
Thanks again Dennis for the props,
