Is anyone interested in doing a group purchase on a Cervini hood? I was talking to Terry the other day and he said that if we had enough people he may be able to swing a deal. Who wants one?

Still after my hood are you? I will probably sell it if I decide to go the Cervinis route.
I'm concentrating on purchasing a KB at the moment though.

Post some pics....I may be interested. I would like to see a photo chop of my black L with the cowl.
What does the hood look like from the under side? Does that cowl actually allow more room under the hood. I may need it for the Big Arse Whipple.

I need the cowl design to have enough room for the 3.3 whipple. The darned thing sticks up above the engine bay. I am open to suggestions.

Rocks:beer::D I am just messing with you guys. I have a Cervinis 3" cowl and I love it. It will be perfect for your setup Ron. If all of you buy the cowl, my hood will look like it is stock again..:d Come on Rocks, just let your hood rub on your plenum like Scott does.:rll:

Since you have the cowl hood, maybe you can help me out with something. Is the cowl actually functional, or is it blanked off?
Does it give the room for what I am talking about. Is the cowl real??? Or decoration?
Thanks Jeff.....and I still think your comments where funny...I darned ner dropped a load when I read your post...Ugly!!!!:rll:

Ron, it will let heat escape from the back of the cowl, it is open with a screen over it. The hood is a real cowl and gel coated on the underside which looks really good. It will definately give you more room. I will take some pictures and measurements and post them for you tomorrow.:tu:

Ron,
If you can remember this far back, I had a Cervini 3" cowl on my truck. I'm sure there are some pics of it around here somewhere. The underside is slick and painted. It has a really sharp appearance when the hood is up, and gives the truck a really menacing look from the front. I think you'll like it....a lot.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I was thinking you had the cervini. I knew it was a cowl...but wasn't sure of the make. Kewl...maybe someone can find some pics of it and make it Black...
Anyone ever notice that Ronald is missing when you actually need him. Or was it Elain that did the photoshop...I don't remember.

I was always under the impression that due to higher air pressure at the base of the windshield, air actually flows in the hood from the top and cool air flows down thru the engine compartment thus the term "COWL INDUCTION".
I have also seen some studies on the "ram air" hoods that are very interesting. It appears that air hits just the very leading edge (like an inch or two) of the hood and then flows above the hood by several inches creating a lower air pressure past that point on the hood so you are not ever getting a true "RAM AIR" even at high speeds. Why do you think the really fast drag cars and F1 cars have the intake scoop way up above the vehicle to get into the good airflow.
It is true ram air can make for a very short straight air tube getting air into the motor faster and straighter if set up properly.
I personally don't care for the looks of the cowl hoods but if I had to pick between:
1)stock hood, little blower or
2)cowl hood, 3.3 whipple blower
it's not even a choice #2 wins every time!!!!!
And Rocks, I cannot wait to see that truck of yours run when you get thru massaging it!!!!!

That's Chris Snells truck w/ a Cervinis 3" cowl. I believe he was icing it down
between runs. I could be wrong.

With that being said, is there any problems with water. If it is that much air, would it suck in enough water when it is raining to worry about?
