I had ours ordered through Amazon.com for a Christmas present for my son. I haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail from them that it has been shipped... if I don't hear back soon, I'm going to just go buy it.

I agree I was up playing it last night until 1:00 a.m. then went to work at 5:00 a.m. damn that thing is adictive. Got to love the 03 L they have on there but the 05 GT is way fast after you mod it out (Already done).

They even have NOS on there as a modification.

They better have an option to turbocharge or supercharge cars that are typically N/A. I like the nitrous mod. That is cool.

An '05 Mustang GT that is fast? I guess anything is possible in video games. :rll:

Yea they have an option for a turbo or a supercharger but for example the mustang can only get the superchager.

Never been impressed with the graphics of the few games I have played on others PS2's

I do have 2 Xboxes though - Need to mod one of of these days

Trust me when I say the graphics on GT4 are a quantum leap forward from GT3. The game also supports HDTV 1080i and 480p, and 16:9 in single player. It looks phenomenal.

Still, I will be getting Forza motorsport when it releases too...

i traded xbox for ps2 and GT4... but havent had time to really play it yet... got a cuple newbie questions... i know you only start with $10k so whats best way to get up enough to buy a mustang or L or something cool? should i buy the cheapest car possible and save up or buy a decent $10k car and just use it for a while??

is it even possible to win any races with a cheap car or am i gonna have to use money to mod it??? which races are the best (easiest) to start off with so i can get some money?? sorry... im sitting here at work just plotting my weekend :D

I picked up an '89 Galant VR4 with 56k miles for I think 8500, then I won all the Sunday Cup races, modded the car, won them all again, modded the car further. I havent been able to play as much as I would like. But my car will do the quarter mile in 13.4 seconds now. Its getting there, but the parts are starting to get expensive.

I think you will have to play for a while to be able to buy a Mustang or something.

man I'm stuck, I won a fully race ready Civic and kicked ass in the B level, I tried A level but owned.. Why are there no freaking American cars available in the use car lots, I have 50k to spend.. What should I buy next?

found a quick way to make 115k so I bought me a GT 40, runs 10.78 @ 138 in the 1/4 mile knana Yeah it aint stock, put a chip and exhaust in woot!!

gonna make me a quick 250 and buy me an L and put all the mods in it

So I got the Lighting in DSG stock it ran 14.x

With a few mods ;) it did 12.1

Sprayed it and I got 11.08 @ 132 knana, guess I need traction bars

Okay...for you kids posting up the 1/4 mile times......did GT4 put a 1/4 mile track in the game or does it just post up stats in your garage / tuning feature?

i don't have it yet but I know the old Gran Turismo's actually had a 1/4 mile option.

Its actually a 0-400m track laid out on the Las Vegas Strip.

I always get all the license in the first 2 days...and from there you just work your way up..i'm sure there's so much crap on there....must resist from buying...game.....must...study...

Get a used Civic then go race the one make race series in Japan. Get all golds its 5 races, 1st place gets you 5k so thats 25k. When you win you will get the race version '87 Civic. With that Civic go back and enter the one make series again. You'll easily kill the other civics cause they are all stock. You'll win the race ready civic again and it can be sold for 95k. You can keep doing this over and over to get cash. I did it once and was able to buy the Lightning, then fully modded it.

BTW my GT 40 runs 10.18 @ 146mph w/spray on street tires :)

This game pisses me off. I knew I shouldn't have bought it. My bloodpressure goes through the roof when I play it.:flaming: I don't think I have enough patience for this type of racing. Freaking car spins out when I'm trying to pass someone or else they bump my car and put me in the dirt. Like Jeff says "Your killin me!"

finally got my 2nd car last night. I started off with the Civic and played the Honda One make long enough to almost fully mod it... then played it for a while before I played the last track and one the Full Model Honda... then sold it for $95k and had about $120k in the bank.... I bought the L and spend about $80k modding it... still have a few more things to do, currently Im sitting at 554hp and running 12.2s (guess they measure HP at the crank instead of rwhp)
