Get me his resume and I'll see what I can do here. Nortel is sporadically hiring and I can submit his resume into the pool.
Also, no SCT tuner for me....how about a deal on brakes or LT headers/hi flows?? :D

Have your brother send his resume to rqbrown@hotmail.com. Elaine is a Circuit Provisioning Mgr. at SBC and our good friend/groomsman, Tim, is a WebLogic Consultant at American Airlines / DFW.
How far does your brother care to relocate? A good friend of mine ('02 True-Blue L) in Medina, OH. just accepted a Mech. Eng. mgt. position with MTD recently.
A cousin of mine has been with Mercury Marine in Fon Du Lac, WI for almost a year now - OU Mech. Engineering grad, I might add. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/nana.gif They send him to Miami, FL fairly regularly. They get to play with the company prototypes on the weekends in WI/FL. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/burnout.gif
I completed an Econ. undergrad., but I'd steer your brother away from any possible pursuits in the legal field. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif
Also, the Dallas Federal Reserve has branches in San Antonio, Houston and El Paso.

Ronald..........I don't get something. If you have a hook up on a job for someone else, why don't you have a job??? I'm not trying to be mean, I am just curious how all this works for college types.

Rocks,
I knew when I posted this, I was sorta' setting myself up for a TALON/ WWF-style body-slam. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/devil.gif No offense taken and, honestly, it all doesn't have anything to do about college degrees, etc. No ownage going on, either.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
Long story short, since we hit the ground in TX. in '03, we vowed that I wouldn't road-warrior any more and stay local. I did that for 3 recent gigs here to make a strong marriage. Now, the pendulum is swinging the other direction in many ways.
After much "gnashing of teeth" recently, I got the green-light last week to pursue traveling contract-to-hire positions in San Diego, CA and Dayton, OH for the Navy and Air-Force who have been courting me aggressively for Informatica work. Hell, Wright/Patterson was trying to get me to stay in OH. when we were leaving Akron for Plano/Frisco for the same job. Evidently, since 9/11 they're bumping almost anyone that isn't a natural-born citizen. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif
It maybe Kansas City or Houston, as well - Finance sector. It just depends, but moving cross-country is a b!tch and we don't want to do it. Elaine's good with it, for the most part.
Another contact, Elaine's sister, Heather, is a Project Mgr. in Indianapolis with GM Allison / Rolls-Royce designing/building jet engines for missiles, etc. Pretty good for a "dumb college-kid" with her Aeronautical Engineering undergrad. and MBA from Purdue - top of her class. I can fwd. resumes there, too.
In short, Uncle Rocks, it doesn't have anything to do with a college education, it's just the staffing model in my particular field, outsourcing my jobs to India for $3/hr and our personal decisions regarding road-warrioring.
I've considered a career change, more than once, too. Hmm, I just had an idea! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/nana.gif Terry can teach me everything he knows about Ls, so he can shoot on over to Iraq/Afghanistan to stomp out terrorism/insurgents and I can be the TALON tuner/go-to-guy! http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Terry, I am not knocking his job or anything. Also if anyone here is a loan officer please don't take offense. He looks like a sharp guy and with that degree he has he could have received a job at my employer to start at 48k -50k a year with Outstanding Benefits with no experience. Most of the people that work at my company that have degrees within 2 years they get promoted they will be making 60k-75k at the minimum.I work of a huge well know company. If he wants to inquire about any positions PM me.
If he is doing better in that field, ignore this post.

I told him ot keep looking until he works somewhere he can't leave. But he is young and has the time and money to stay a few places and ride a few opportunities out.

Hey dingus..what's the deal? I know of a few positions popping up so tell him to get his resume to me so he can be considered. He's getting the hookup from a lot of your buddies..he needs to start taking advantage of them...
