I like this stuff, all my road racing guys make fun of me that I am drag racing now. Anyone want to do the Big Bend race on 4/23 this year? I have been challenged by some of my Chevy and Porsche friends.

I love this stuff and am so happy that the season has started again. They now have the timing data on f1.com. Terry is the big road racer, you might try to hook up with him..
Dennis, what is your bet on who wins the championship this year?
Dana

its always hard to bet against Michael. :tu:

Yeah, my guys know him and wonder why I am not doing this too...Hey I thought you were a road racer, and I was with Porsche, lots of late 80's #1 trophies. Not sure if a 5000 lb truck is the right vehicle. I guess I need to get the P car on track again.

Stan/Ruslow emailed me recently and said that he will be at Ft. Stockton in May for the ORR event.

Also, he runs Hallett quite a bit to test new components/creations. http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/bows.gif

Back to F1......................Schumacher is the best driver so everything else being equal, he wins. Everyone is racing for 2nd so I'll go with Webber.

Its even tougher to go against Ferrari recently, although some of the teams have really stepped it up in the offseason. Alonso, Rakkinen, Montoya and others are going to get closer. What about the new team Red Bull? I hope its not a total runaway.

FErrari has the upper hand, if only becasue they have the tightest team in the bunch, and Schuey. For second, it's going to depend on how well they adjusted to the new rules. Button has a great chance, esp. since the new Honda motor is putting out 950hp, with Montoya coming next.

I think Raikkonen is going to drop a few places to Montoya, because JP is just a hella better driver with anything that's reasonably loose, while Kimi just wants everyone out of his way.

Alonso's results will depend heavily on how well his car works this year, and how well they anticipate setups for the new rules. I still think he's the best driver to hit since Senna, and he'll show it soon.

RedBull will do well in the future, if only because the owner has a huge drive to create a team that will be a showcase for all the hot new talent he's recruiting and sending to the Red Bull Training and Diagnostics center in Austria. I think they can do well if they bring in the best design and management talent, and can bring up hot young drivers thru their ranks.

And don't forget Toyota, who's got lots to prove this year. Watch for them to spoil a few races for a few others.

I think this year's going to be a close one, tho, alot better than last year.

Tex,
interesting note is that if Toyota doesnt really show something in results this year they are withdrawing from F1.. the first race really didnt say much though.. the season has started and I will watch virtually every race and want to try to attend one as well.

Yah, I"m in the middle of watching th race right now, and it looks like fun, so do'nt spoil it for me!!

What surprises me so far is how well the REd Bull cars are doing! Basically 1-yo Jags that couldn't hit a barn broadside last year, are tearing it up this year?? WTF??

Wait for it.. gotta finish watching the race first.. will be back on THursday. :d
