I have been spending some free time the last couple of days porting out the upper plenum that bolts to the top of the S/C. After I cleaned all of the oil out so I could see what to do, I noticed that there was a lot of restriction/air interference in the dang thing. There is a knot on the inside corner of the elbow, and two at the end that bolts to the S/C. Those are there because of the mounting points on the outside to mount to the S/C. All of those knots are now grinded down smoothly. And the bottom of the plenum has a hard turn leading into the S/C. I did EXCESSIVE porting on the lip to get the air to enter smoothly. I also added 1/4" diameter to the entrance port to the S/C. That will be port matched to my new S/C that will be here next week. Although I won't be able to post any dyno numbers, I wouldn't doubt to find 10-12 additional rwhp by just doing this. Maybe even more. So far this has costed me $7 for the grinding bit from the hardware store. I will also purchase a wire brush attachment to finish cleaning and smoothing the inside. All I need now is a single blade T/B. :burnout: ...and maybe an engine.
