Pretty interesting.. think a really modded up L could turn the trick and win? The postings are about $1M cars running in this race, but you got to think that they may not hold up... however, a truck just might.. the only thing is that the cars would kill you on the long straights as they have the higher top speed..
Did you read that the they are down to three routes already?
should be interesting..

I think the bast car for this race is a RUF tuned turbo Porche. It would be possible in a built Z06 TT with tall gearing. A truck would eat brake pads and tires too fast and not be able to touch the needed 200mph straights. Not to mention radar profile.

At least the Z06 would be cost competitive to build and run. Depending on where the race is run, parts might be available but you couldnt count on it.

I know I was dreaming on the Lightning.. but hey, thats what dreaming is for.

Did you read any of the posts on that forum ?

I find it hard to believe that an organization that is giving away 2 million in prize money is using free Forum software.

And the posts are all by kids who only experience in a fast car is on playstation....

Well, maybe I could borrow my friend boosted STi and keep upo with them for 30 secs max

There is the Gumball or whatever. It is a bunch of rich folks who race across the country. They pay a 20-30K entry to ream across the US. I think a lot of foriegners come over to do it. I have some vids but they are too big to host or email..

I was thinking SCAM. You end up screwed out of 30K and then you give them your car, so they can fly it off to some foriegn country and sell it...LOL.
