Well...long story short...the younger brother ended up with a 95 WHT L bought from some PaCo car lot in Houston 2day...and on the ride home it caught fire! Yes....not Lightning...FIRE. Looks like the front pump, pumped 15 quarts of tranny fluid out the front seal/ or coverter.. So. Need help/ info on finding a replacement and or repair from somewhere in the Dallas area. A full rebuild at this time is unaffordable at this time, which ranges from 16-2000K. Any good junk yards...etc...? A better stock replacement with OverDrive>?

Thanks in Advance.

Chris;)

Oh...mileage is at 150k....he got SOLD, at $6500

OUCH! Isn't there some kind of 72 hour law that says no matter the reason you can return it within 72 hours/300 miles? I know it's something like that.

call a lawyer, sometimes just sending a certified letter from a lawyer can be enough. that is bullshit

The transmission that was in the 4X4 Lightning is the one I'm talking about. It's used, but you might be able to pick it up for a decent price. Ferris is between Dallas and Ennis on I45.

Most 4wd trannies have a shorter case and output shaft due to the transfer case..

Maybe its just the front pump seal that went:confused: - $20 fix but you have to pull the tranny

At 150k miles I don't think I would pull the tranny without going through it.

Yeah, I know. The 4X4 Lightning came with the 4X4 tranny (from a 96 bronco) and the guy took the 2wd E4OD in as a trade. So the one I was refering to was the original Lightning transmission.

I will retun your call when I get to the office tomorrow. Check with Fred, we are building him a 4R100 for his white 94. Maybe he will make you a deal on his pull out. We just need ot get the truck in the shop to see what caught fire, what leaked etc. It is not accurate to get trannies etc before we know what the actual problems are:tu: .

Thanks:tu: You may want to follow up on Fred's E4OD.;) But we should just get it in to look at what it is before gathering parts...

Hey Terry, I was confused about the 4R100 to E4OD thingy! I thought we were taking parts out of the 4R100 and putting them in the E4OD case. My tranny(E4OD) is very strong and has a shift kit in it already. I assume my Torque convertor will switch over to the 4R100. Anyway, If I don't need my stock tranny then we will take care of Ivanhoe!
