Looks great, Adam. I had 315s on my '96 Cobra, and it looked awesome with those huge tires.

I like the simple clean lines look to it... very stealthy... my kind of car and look to be throwing down.

Looking good, Adam! :tu: I'm assuming in that last pic that the reflection and the matching silhouette are traction bars? What mods?

I need a daily-driver, too.

Adam,

If that is a '97 GT, has white faced APC guages, a short throw shifter, A-pillar guages(Oil Press. and Water Temp), PI(Power Improved) cylinder heads, Long Tube headers, 2 Chamber "Flows", 3.73's, Eibach lowering springs, Replica Cobra R's (17" x 9"F & 17" x 10.5"R), with the aforementioned Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires, etc...etc.............

......then I am 99.9% positive that car used to belong to one of my long time best friends. He was the original owner of the car, and only sold it several months ago. He loved that car, and sold it only for prioritization reasons. It has never been on a drag strip, despite my constant urgings. He just didn't want to beat on it in that manner.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

The vast majority of the mileage is of the highway variety. He did like to "cruise" at 120 or so in 5th gear, that's where he got his kicks. He had just put the wheel/tire combo on it not long before selling her. The long tubes were installed about a year and a half or so ago, the PI heads were added in the Spring of '02, while the gears were installed in October of '99(don't ask me how I remember this stuff). I know the car well, and have driven her a time or two.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

He will get a kick out of the fact that another friend of mine now owns the car.

FYI....Just in case you weren't aware....the '99-'04 PI heads have smaller combustion chambers than the factory SOHC heads that were original equipment on that car in '97. Furthermore, the '96-'98 GT's had flat-top pistons -vs- the dished versions of the '99-'04 PI headed cars.

What this means is that when you combine the flat-top pistons(hypereutectic) present in the '97 year model block, with the smaller combustion chambers of the '99-'04 PI heads......the engine in your car now has a compression ratio of around 10.5:1, which means two things....
1. MUST use Super Unleaded at all times.
2. Too much compression for a blower on pump gas, unless you keep boost levels BELOW 6 psig!

The higher compression combined with the better flowing cylinder heads is a major reason that this was such a popular mod for the '96-'98 GT crowd. Because in stock configuration, the '96-'98 GT's were WEAK, and struggled to make 170 HP at the wheels. The PI head swap generally netted guys around 70-80 RWHP. I believe your car dynoed around 250-255 at the wheels, which should be good for mid 13's at 101-103 mph dependant upon traction.

At any rate....Have Fun! It's a nice little car.http://www.talonclub.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
