Well, I found out Thu. that I'm shipping out Sun. afternoon to spend 3 weeks in Miami on the Miami/Dade Cty. IT systems - maybe there longer.
I was thinking I'd be on South Beach. :bowsSuch was not the case. Their HQ is in Haileah (sp?) - I was speaking with my lead yesterday in Atlanta and said the HQ is in the barrios of Miami - somewhat. :crying::cool:
Anyone spent any time in Miami and have any advice?
Muchas gracias ...or something....:D

Dont drive around in a rental car. They look for the rental car sticker and figure your a tourist which makes an easy mark. I hear Florida is really bad about this.

Hmm. I'll be staying somewhere in Miami and making the "Baghdad-Run" to Haileah in the morning in a rental and back to the hotel in the evening.

Your conceal Carry license is good in Florida:rolleyes:
There is a really neat resort in Hollywood where you can rent a room that floats on the bay , so you can fish from your balcony. It is in a gated area so it is more secure than other areas:beer:

At least one evening while you are there go check out Jai Alai. It's the fastest ball game played in the world. You can see it live at Miami Jai-Alai on 3500 NW 37th Avenue. Talk to some locals for more details. Very Very Cool Game!

Curtis,
I passed the Miami Jai-Alai venue on the way to get my rental. I understand the game-ball can hit speeds up to 150 mph! :eek2: I'll have to check it out.
Palm-trees everywhere, huge party boats and Vida Guerra types running around everywhere. Adam would like this place. knana
I'm liking this whole vibe.:D
Milton,
I might have to check into your floating-apt./fishing suggestion.

I avoid the barrios like the plague. The downside is that the "office" is in a big warehouse district with 3 people gunned down recently by a perp. w/an AK at a bar around the corner - I found out today. :eek2:
My rental is a RED Dodge Neon. How ironic.

Been keeping an eye-out for Ls down here. Haven't seen any for almost 2-weeks and then see 4 Gen. II Ls in two days - White/Silver 01/02 and a Black 03/04 and then a Black 01/02 L w/chrome wheels this morning almost identical to tliss'.
Saw a black Gen. I today, too. Plenty of L posers and ricers abound.
