I put mine on Saturday. My truck wasn't on the offcial recall but I had disconnected my old one anyway for peace of mind.

9/16" stubby wrench to disconnect old one from master cylinder and a 7/8" stubby to put the new one in. Comes with new pigtail harness to connect switch to connector.

For $20 it's not worth the hassle of the dealer replacing, where did you get the part? and did you bleed the brakes after?

I would think so since you are opening the master cylinder.

Like one guy posted on F150online that the dealer told him just put a few drops of brake fluid in the hole when you take it out so that it doesn't create an air pocket. This idea seems like it should work.

Yes it might, but no one bleeds brakes as much as they should anyway. Including me, so I think that this should be part of the procedure.
