I was just wondering if you could put a '05 3 valve head on our L's. Their getting petter flow results than the DOHC's, and respond like crazy to a blower. The blocks are the same from what I understand, would this be a direct swap minus the variable cam timing? The PCM would have to be able to control the VCT, so you would have to mecanically lock the cam timing.

I was wondering the same thing. I bet the intake side of the heads wouldn't match up

If they are twinning the 3rd valve then it should work fine. But for the cost of heads you can buy a KB. Guess which will make more power:D . These trucks can make 500+ daily driven HP on stock heads. If I were to change to anything it would be CNC'd stock heads with new valves. 3 stock ugly valves in rough stock ports would not gain my HP at all.

Thats true. I guess in a few years it might be easy to score some 3 valve heads for little cash, but I guess porting the stockers would be cheaper anyway, and flow better. I had 4 G's laying around I would defidently grab a KB instead of 05 3v heads. I just know of some centrifugal blowers making 600+ flywhell HP on the new 4.6's and if they flow as good as they report and they were cheap to get ahold of, then it might be a respectable mod. Maybe not.
