Question about Title

as you know, i sold my Lightning a month ago or so... guy's bank paid off my loan and he got a loan also... anyway, today in the mail I recieved a title for the truck... its a regular blue title with the previous owners name on it as previous owner, and my name in the owner spot, then has the actual miles of when I had bought it in 2003.... then under Lien it has my bank, and off to the right it shows the lien was released this month.... but nowhere does it have the new guy (who i sold to) name on there....

is this a real title or just something to show for my old records??? dont remember ever getting one of these before when I sold or traded in a car before

Thats the real one, bank keeps it till its paid off.Sign over to new owner, or bank and when he registers it will be in his name.Sounds like lack of comm. btwn lenders.

ASk a professional. Go by his bank if it is a local joint. Or you may have to have it transferred into your name first. The bank has just signed it off the state has no record of this release of lein. That is why you may have to go update the title into your name. Then sign it to his bank. DO NOT give him the title he can run with the vehicle and his bank will sue you for the money! It just happened to a buddy of mine. He gave the clear title to the buyer not the bank. His uncle registered it an owned it free and clear.
