If I read the website posts right, he made it to the second round. Only problem for him was the fact that the No.1 guy and the No.2 guy in points made it to the finals.

We're pulling for you Rocks!! Four more races to go....

Thanks fellers. I hope it doesn't make anyone feel I am some kind of quiter...but I have decide that I am not going to run in or attend any more FFW events. The FFW officials allowed a pretty major rule infraction to take place this weekend.

Long story short...man get's brought up on violating the transbrake rules....FFW agreed that said person should be DQ'ed for the race and loose points for the race. FFW officials caved in to pressure from the actual owner of the truck since he has a few cars he sponsors in Mod motor, and said rules violater get's to race and keep points. Truth is, the man with the trans brake has probably had it for the past 3 events. His lights suddenly turned to sh!t after he took it out. He is now in first place and I feel strongly that his win from the Jersey event make up was due to his transbrake. He was nailing .00x lights all day long in both Q/F and TT. I mean each and every pass he ran too. Sunday he cuts .1xx lights 3 out of 4 rounds.

I say...Fock Em....my particapation is the same as me saying it is OK to play with the rules as it suits you.

Here is a link to the action packed drama. I hate to ask this, but it sure would help out if any of the folks that run the FFW event would show some support by letting the FFW fellows know that the Dallas event will be boycotted if they don't do something about this. IMHO, there is absolutely no good reason to allow a major rule infraction in a racing organization of this size. The folks posting about why it was OK are already starting up the lies. I am here to tell you, there is some major BSing going on. Bill A and the rest of the FFW staff all denied that they had any knowledge of David running a transbrake. Now that the heat is on, they may or may not try to use this as some kind of justification. If they go there, my response to this is going to be real fricking good.

Who did he threaten with a hammer? I doubt you will get anywhere with a boycott.. Let them chew on that:D

It wasn't me. He would be dead right now and I would be in jail organizing my self defense campaign. I don't know who he threatened. I know i got close to having a fist fight with his sponsor, Vern. His ponsor got a little out of hand with his mouth and I got a little out of hand in his face. But he and I never threatened each other. We are both old guys...LOL...and we both respect the fact that a threat is calling for immediate action. I don't think he or I wanted that....LOL.

As for the botcott...I really don't expect it to make them change their minds. But they will notice when the average count for a particular class at a particular event is down. They keep close counts on attendance from each event and gage interest with this info. It really just serves to let them know folks are not going to continue to support them when rules violations become approved.

I think there's a balloon festival up in McKinney on the same day as FFW here.

Maybe I'll just go to that instead. :evil

I know I will be running in Kennedale that Sunday. Maybe I can help the Talon Club get a few more points for the TMMC events.

Ron,

Glad you're taking a stand. Maybe others will follow. I respect your principles. For 5-6 years in the mid, late-90s I raced in the True Street 5.0 Shootout at several venues and saw tons of shady crap going on. It definitely takes the fun out of it...and I was typically in the top 5-6 cars.

Oh well. That was why I always said I race vehicles that I build for myself and do not build them to conform around one given set of rules. At the very least the rules change every year, and at the worst you get a number of guys who consistently cheat. It takes the fun out of it, and even moreso when your hard earned $$ are getting taken with it.

There is not nearly enough $$ in these events to justify changing the combo every season to be competitive. Race to get the thrill of clicking off a great time down the 1/4 and the excitement of staging the truck and pulling the tires on the launch. That's what its about.

Best of luck to you!

Start looking. I am in. We can caravan to anywhere you come up with. Keep an eye on No Problem race way too. It is only about 8 hours away and they have a few good money events there.

Wow, sounds like George makes his own rules. I can't belive Jim put up a 500 dollar contest and David refused. That is once again black and white in the rules for DQ:Bullshit . How many are normally in the class, how many will boycott seriously?

03LightningRocks

I don't knw how many will boycott? Jim just posted on F150 online that he and his crew are out if they don't take the points from David. So that makes two of us with the same position...LOL. FFW has to make this right or anyone that runs it will always question the fairness of the game. We will see what they do. I seriously doubt they care. But they will once the gravity hits them. I was questioned by a fellow from MM and Fast Fords on Sunday about it all. He seemed to feel David should be out under this rule section also. The problem just got more complicated as george(head tech) says he gave prior approval to David to have it on his truck. This sh!t just get's crazier by the hour.
