Anyone have the torque numbers for the water pump and pump pulley?

actually bud, thats just a standard cobra water pump... its not an R model.. check the actual R water pump and you will see what I mean... Bigbob and I found this out first hand.

and the waterpump for our trucks is the standard cobra waterpump :)

So if you are saying the waterpump for our trucks is the "standard Cobra" water pump, and the one on the left is a "standard Cobra" water pump, why is it different from the "standard Lightning" water pump on the right that I just took out of my truck? :confused: The "R" was intentionally in quotes BTW.

I tightened them both at 18 lb-ft.
The manual states 15-22 lb-ft., but also states 18 lb-ft. for the pump in another section of the manual.

The truck pump is a cast iron pump with mechanical fan hub. Mustang pump GT, Cobra whatever is aluminum with no mechanical fan hub, and the impeller is more efficient especially at higher RPM's.

The Cobra "R" water pumps shaft is shorter and when installing the pulley from the Lightning it bottoms out before flushing up with the water pump hub.
The Mustang Cobra water pump is the correct one when installing a electric fan on a Lightning and wishing to do a better water pump which is made of aluminum.

The "R" issue has entered the equation but is incorrect.
