It doesn't even have one door ding. The seats have been covered from day one. very few bug chips due to not ever driving very fast on a continous bases.I have never driven it hard. I did however get it up to 100 once. Also the floor has been covered from day one.

Sounds like its in good shape
You might get that - But its 6 years old and its among the slowest of the years stock for stock. You will have to be willing to wait to sell for that price....

I don't have a price in my head yet I was simply saying what my wife found on the interner. I don't know what price I am looking at that's why I ask some of you for your opinions.

Actually Kelly Blue Book shows 13,800 as private party. Trade in price would just make you mad. The retail price is what a dealer might be able to get for it. Mostly due to the fact that a dealer would give a 12 month 12k warranty on it.
You would just have to be patient. Sooner or later the right buyer will come along.
Good luck with it.....:tu:

I went in and changed the condition from good to excellent (excellent is pretty hard to get), it raised the private party value to 14,900.00 ..... That is you selling it to another person. One thing I found out about Kelly Blue book though. The dealers want to sell the truck to you based on the retail price, but if you want the trade in price, they act like Kelly has the price too high.

I have been through a lot for cars and they all use good cond at best unless it is less than 6 months old. The biggest part in any sale is the ease of finance. Most banks don't loan over 5 year or 100K miles. You would need to find a cash buyer since banks won't give a long term or good APR for a 6yr old truck. Remember we see them as a Lightning but the banks and such only see the VIN# and F150. List it on NLOC you may find a buyer over there. We all want the most out of our own stuff, pride is a bitch.

That age issue is for real. My 1997 F150 Lariat had a private party value around 6000.00 . The hard part was to find someone with 6000 to plunk down. I ended up selling it for 3500 just to get rid of it and buy my new truck. Selling a used vehicle can be real disappointing....

Thanks for all of your input. I really appreciate it. I guess I may just trade it in and take a big loss. That will save all the hassle. I don't have time for it!!

Try NLOC like I said there are folks with cash over there. Moonshine recently sold his 116K mile 2000 for $12,500 in a matter of days. I think Doug got about $15K for his 85K? mile 2000. Remember when you trade it you get that amount tax off your new purchase. Usually 800-1200 bucks worth.http://www.nloc.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=418

Thanks for the help. I do realize that by selling it to an Individual you don't get to take the tax of the trade in value off the price of the new car or truck, therefore you need to get at least $800 more when you sell it. Seems as tho $14K to $15K is about the average price according to all the sites.

If you plan on buying a car soon and you find an interested party, do an in and out. You sell your car through the dealership to the other party and then buy the car ou want. The price of your sold car comes off the price of the new car for tax purposes.
I did this with my Viper....after the downpayment and trade etc I paid $157 in taxes :)

Not any longer. I picked it up from Mr. Ed Saturday. Ed has done a great job keeping this truck in superb condition and I am glad to have a second white Gen II. ;)
