Hissing

Terry, just noticed when i start my truck in park its sounds normal.When i put it in gear and hold break i am getting a hissing noise from air filter.Goes away after motor is warmed up.Normal ,O.K., any ideas????Deff. coming from air filter.Idle is a bit high when cold.This just started happening??

Mine dose this... Its just your truck breathing better.. I didnt notice mine at first either.

With motor off, i slammed throttle body back and forth several times,tried it again noise gone.

maybe the throttle boddy blades where just sticking a bit...

Still does it,im not concerned but curious what it is.Sounds like a pulley bearing goin bad, which is why i looked.

if its a hissing air sound im sure its just your intake. Mine dose it with an open filter... But would have to hear your sound it in person tho

My L makes a hulluva' hissing/s#cking sound with the AirRaid or the ChikenEars-style filter. Stock air-box was dead-quiet. I'm thinking it's just your engine breathing better. http://www.storagebin.us/uploads/smilies/dunno.gif

When I shut down the engine, it lets out this exhale/whoosh sound from the air-filter.

You're speshal. There are a lot of weird noises when you run an open filter. The engine eats more air in gear that is why you hear the hunger.
