What happen to covering important things like business, community, and politics etc. I rarely flip on the news but when I do like tonight it shows at least 4-5 murders, 2 shootings, agg robbery etc. All they do is rave over the crime and perpetuate fear among the community. It hasn't helped bring anything under control as best I can tell.

That's why I don't watch it unless I know something major has happened.

I agree Terry. That's why my wife and I haven't watched a regular newscast for nearly 5 years now (not counting 9-11-01 events, of course).

I watch sports (and lots of it, admittedly) on my TV's. That's basically it, along with rented movies and some kids programs (although most of those are complete #$%^ nowdays).

If I see one more reality show I will puke! I want to see a fairtale happy place on TV like Family Ties, or Charles in Charge. Stimulate my imagination with some Six MIllion Dollar man, Bionic Woman, A-Team. Make me laugh with some Laverne and Shirley at the beer plant, Mork and Mindy, Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies. Or some decent westerns like Bonanza, the Rifleman with Chuck Connors, or even F Troop. Other comedies like Get Smart, action shows like Hawaii 5 '0. I am sick of people eating donkey penis and worms on TV for 50, 000 dollars:Bullshit . TV is for an escape from reality and entertainment.

Actually, I take back what I said. My wife and I did watch the three seasons of "24". I thought that was very good, entertaining TV.

Yep, the reality shows bite.

I'll have to agree about the whole liberal media bias and this whole reality-show fad. We must live in a nation of "sheeple" - a visit to any mall will leave you shaking your head in disbelief. I also seldom watch news and/or tv as it reminds me of all the frailties of human nature on a macro-scale.

As for the 80s shows, don't forget Magnum PI, Simon & Simon and Miami Vice. Sonny Crockett kicked ass in his white Testarossa and Bren 10mm. knana

TV and the new today blows hairy ass. I'm in El Paso visiting mom and dad, and yesterday what do we sit down to watch? The fiftieth freakin' episode of "Big Brother". How realistic is a reality show where 8 strangers shack up in a house and play stupid games and vote eachother out of the house? I wish my reality ended with a nice million dollar payout. I second the notion (or third it, or fourth it) that reality TV makes me want to vomit.

By the way, who's sick of seeing stories about Peter Jennings?

Yep. If for no other reason than that he was a flaming liberal who had no clue what "unbiased" reporting meant.

This does sound sad when I think about it, but I watch the Weather Channel, home improvement shows, some of the car related shows on Speed, Spike and of course, NFL football..

The only reality show that I watch is the first, and greatest, reality show, Real World on MTV. It started way before the others.
