I recently purchased a AEM intake for my 2000 L and found out it doesn't work with the 99 & 00 models. I believe there was a change between 2000 and 2001's MAF sensor. Now they tell me right?!
But does anybody know if I put in a 2001-2004 MAF sensor if it would work and do I need to recalibrate that sensor???

Help! this sucks!

i changed my mass air to a 90 and my chip had a tune for it, so aslong as you have a chip to tune for it its easy to do

One of the first upgrades those of us with the 99-00 Lightning make is to the 01-up 90mm MAF from the stock 80mm, so I highly recommend doing this. You will need to get your truck retuned for this though which brings up another discussion.

Thanks for responding! Now I have checked out part stores for the MAF and I get the same part number for a 2000 model & 2003. This shouldn't be right?

That's not right, they changed in 01 to the 90mm. I don't know what price differences are but I would try to get the Ford part, they seem to hold up pretty well.

I just got one for $82.51 shipped to my door. I can use a flash tuner to make it work- right? They are all over the place for $89.95 (plus shipping) on ebay. I love ebay!
