Like some of us have discussed before. I guess it wasn't just the 00 with the cruise control switch problems.

yep, they say while you are waiting on your recall part(fused jumper harness) to go ahead and disconnect the speed control harness just in case.

Yes, but they are not replacing the switch, just putting in a GM like fusible link. My K5 has these everwhere.
"Dealers will install a fused wiring harness to act as a circuit breaker in the system. The company said the harness would cut off electrical current to the switch if the current increases."

And what if the truck burns to the ground before the recall is performed?

Disconnect the switch now and sleep better.

After 10 years I doubt it will suddenly catch fire. If it does then I'll be gettin' some gas money. :rll:

I replaced both mine in my 95 and 99 when I first heard about it.

It's not all years. It looks like it only covers up to 2002. I just checked my '04. Not covered.

I went to Bankston this morning and all they are doing now is disconnecting the harness and taping it off.(I already had mine disconnected) They said the actual recall harness won't be in for about a month or so and they would call me when they come in. :hammer:
