Christ..I wish I would have never started reading this thread. Amazing how quickly a thread can go right down the sh!tter. I am not loyal to any of the "big 3" and this thread shows why. Sal is being the most civil...Johnny is also being relatively civil, and JDM just jumped off the civility cliff. Then of course you have the lovers/haters that jumped off the cliff before JDM. You guys need to fukn grow up all ready...jeeezus fukn christ!!!!!!! All the "big 3" have their own goals, ideas and innovations, and I respect them all for that. But this childish behavior makes me imbarrassed to own a Lightning at times. Just think what you guys could do if you were to get together on a project.... http://www.f150online.com/forums/images/smilies/drool.gif ..never ever going to happen I know, but damn that would be one hell of a ride.

Now get along, dammit.

JL, thank you for ponying up the $$ for the event. I don't do true street, so it doesn't affect me one bit, but I do appreciate you helping out to make the event a little better. http://www.f150online.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. The childish crap that those guys post most of the times makes me sick to my stomach. And the lovers/haters aren't any better. Can't we all just get along?:rll:

I'm new to the L scene.... you truck guys surely are the greatest $hit talkers ever! That was pretty harsh! Imagine if some ricer got on there and threw fuel on the fire by saying his civic could beat both of them!! I agree that it went a little too far.

That did have some entertainment value... Some things never change in the Lightning world. :P

No we will not be making Lightning Fest this year, we made it the first year where we were the only of the "big 3" there. We simply cant make it because of the dates Big D chose to go with. We are already gone from our extremly busy schedule in the shop for 3 weeks with FFW. To add L fest would keep us away for another 7-9 days. Which right now is just not possible. If it would have been in october it would be better for everyone because everyone could make it.

The 32V motors are ready however we only have 1 3.3 Whipple. We can only get 3 more and that would be it as do to the situation with Lyscholm and Whipple.

JL,

Nothing you own, built, nor any of your customers will ever be faster and more dependable than ours. You think you are Joe Cool to come to a FFW event, qualify the fastest and then not show on Sunday to race. Just to say you were faster than any JDM truck which were running for consistency not to show how fast they are. We build our trucks to win every event, stay consistent, and LAST. Take for example myself in Dealer Jim's Truck this past weekend were I won the Bristol event and then took 2nd in the Topeka event. This was worth nearly 6 grand in winnings and contingency. Because you are a 1 hit wonder with your trucks and motors ie. Charlie who's brand new motor shot rods out of the block on something like his 5th pass with it. It did go 10.12 but it also did go home wounded on a trailer. At Atco you were running 10.80's in your 7 sec looking truck and your motor sounded worse than my diesel. You were all over the place with your ET's this summer and the sad part about it is you probably have over 200 grand in the truck to date. 30k for the truck brand new, your chassis guy is telling everyone that there is nearly 50k in the work you did there, those big tires and new rims, all the trannies, motors, and blowers that went into it not to mention all your time in R & D, repairing, and working on it over the past 3 years. This got you a 7sec look in a truck that has run a hand full of high 9's.

There is a TV show called "Pinks" were they have grudge matches for pink slips. Im sure you have heard of it. I would like to set up an appointment to do this, the earliest spot they have available is February. You win you take my truck, I win I take yours.

LOL.....you would get it if you had ever spent any time with racers. Testosterone runs wild at the race track...and even off the track. It reminds me of a nascar racer getting out of his car and punching another driver. That never happens though.

Geeze fellers...don't you guys get it? Racing is about one notch above professional wrestling.

Nothing personal is meant by this Tom...I actually like you. But you pretty much did the same thing they where all doing. I have been known to attack threads myself, so I understand how one can read a thread and get caught up in the story line...LOL. Like I said...profesional wrestling at it's best.

Pay per view anyone???:rll:

Damn...I should have thrown a few punches at JDM while I had the chance, then. It just irritates me that JL offers up some cash and makes a stupid comment that should not mean anything and all of the JDM cronies jumped on it like flies on sh!t. I really don't care for any of those guys, I just felt like I needed to smack the kids a little. I was just amazed that none of the guys responded to JL's generosity above and beyond what is required of LFest class sponsorship, but only focused on his little comment. Fukn animals. :evil

My new year's resolution: I will never try to solve world hunger ever again; let 'em wallow in their own filth :rll:

I just read the thread....:rll: . That was entertaining, to say the least. My favorite post on it though was Dougs final post, giving credit for getting the thread closed to waveblaster. I had an urge to start a thread flaming waveblaster for getting threads closed:evil . But that would have been the "old Rocks". I am a kinder, gentler Rocks now.... .

I am wondering why JL didn't take JDM up on the challenge. One would think JL would have been all over that. Makes me wonder if JDM has a truck about to break into the nines. The 32 valve motor with the 3.3 whipple may be just the ticket. That would be cool....a streetable Gen 2 in the nines. Although I can testify that even driving a high 10 second Lightning on the street is a challenge. Sh!t, I try to pass somebody and I end up looking like a fricking maniac blasting by them...and that crap happens at part throttle. I can't even imagine driving a nine second vehicle around the streets.

Make no mistake about it....JL accomplished exactly what he wanted with that comment. It doesn't surprise me one bit that it got the response it did. Think about it for a minute. Regardless of which camp anyone is in....that kind of stuff is publicity to all the tuners. People get all worked up and start thinking of ways to go faster themselves. If we all get happy in the high 10's..the money stops flowing. By raising the goal to nines...we all have to keep spending the dollars to get to the next level. Every tuner out there benefits by by a thread like that....believe it or not.

The only one that really has to deal with the crap part of it is Doug...LOL...but come on...we all know Doug got a kick out of smacking waveblaster boy around.

I just checked my email....LOL...for some reason my filter dumped you into the spam folder. I have no idea why. Give me a minute to respond...

its not that bad, you get kinda used to it after youve been eating mre's for 6 months staight and you get some of it in a care package, and its amazing what you can make when you put your mind to it. And the can does pretty good if you put water in it and heat it up so you can shave. So I say hats off to spam, thanks hormel.
