What is the best decision here? Are we going to be rained out up in KC? Is it going to be a rain storm going? I know we will be driving through a tornado laden hell on the way home. I will be there in the morning to discuss further. I may come home Sat night or stay through Monday...

Doesn't look like we'll be rained out. There will be rain in the area tomorrow, but only isolated storms on Friday, with a HIGH of 73*:tu:. No rain in the forecast up there on Saturday....should be a bit warmer though(high of 87*). We're also leaning toward heading home Saturday evening. Just gonna keep an eye on things. See you in the morning.

You guys obviously haven't ever been through the tail of a hurricane. If it hits where predicted, around Sat morning, we will be getting rain/storms beginning Sat evening and ending sometime on Monday. It's not a blow through and wait it out kinda thing. If it gets nasty here, it will be nasty for more than a couple of hours.

Right now, the hurricane storm track shows Rita running right up I45 and across us by Sat afternoon/Sunday morning. If I were running up with y'all, I wouldn't worry overmuch about the storm while there ('cept for the worry about people here at home); but I wouldn't want to be driving thru it on my way back, so I might think about waiting a day extra to let it blow past.

Looks like we are just going to have to play it by ear. Right now there are alot of variables. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I am not looking forward to the drive home, wish you made it Doug and others who bailed.. The gas is CHEAP up here regular is 2.39 and up. The parking lot is the place to be and it is nice to hang with the group and do a little diesel racing:tu:

Damn...cheap gas. You need to get some 55 gal drums filled up and bring em back so you can scalp em when gas hit's $5.00 a gallon :)
