I noticed the TMCC event at Ennis has been rescheduled for October 23. Bracket racing for $30 at a very good 1/4 track is a pretty good deal. If we get some good weather, I am considering going. Anyone else interested? We can still race as a club at the event.

I was considering going. But only if some of our guys will be there. Dennis? Michael? anyone else. It will probably be fun and I bet the weather will make for some good ET's.

Rocks:beer:

I'm in for a stock block KB high boost run.
Rocks maybe even borrow a KB small pulley, installed with a torque wrench of course.;)

If it goes, then I have something sitting here to put in over the winter.
Reserve a trailer please.

LOL....I have to admit to using a torque wrench on the upper pulley...I learned the hard way what too much meat could do to that bolt.

I will have my trailer with me if you push it too far... . I have to drive it slow though....the trailer is on it's last legs. I figure if it looses another wheel or tire, I will unload the lightning and abandon the trailer right where it sits.

We have you covered....see you out there...:tu: .

How often you think you will get a pass? I am considering it if I can get a few passes in without waiting 2 hours between them.

Need to get the slicks and myself in shape for the TALON shootout coming up.

What time you guys thinking about heading out?

UP to now I have only done 1/8th mile tracks, and I am wanting to go 1/4. Also have not done any bracket racing, just test'ntune. IF some of you experienced guys can give a few pointers on how to figure Dial-In I will join in. What time is best to plan to arrive at track, or will there be a convoy from Plano/Allen/Richardson/Garland area.

03LightningRocks

Tommy, you will get at least three passes in before 1 oclock.

Robert...no convoy action.....I planned to get there by 8 AM. We can hook you up on the dial in. The most important part is your reaction time. Leave as soon as you see the yellow starting to form in the third light...LOL.

My best reaction time thus far has been .70, so I have a long way to go to get close to .50. I figure that takes quite a bit of practice, so I really do not expect to beat any experienced and younger (read more nimble) drivers. But you got to start somewhere, so why not with people running similar vehicles.

I'm trying to figure out a way to get down there on Sunday. My schedule has been messed up since my recent family issues. I would normally leave about 7:30 AM which will put me at 75 & Spring Valley by 8:15AM. Maybe I should leave at 7AM. That should put us at the track by 8:30AM. Racing doesn't start until 11AM.

I'm thinking about leaving more around 8:30ish, get down around 9:30. Is there any test and tune or does that start at 11:00 too.

There are two qualifying passes before the competition starts. No test and tune. So you get two qualifiers and then you pick your dial and start racing.

Your thoughts on Howard's post above? Do we need to leave earlier?

It changed our plans. We are leaving around 7:30. I don't want to miss any time trial runs. My plan is to go for a number, so I will probably get put out in the first round of eliminations. If I can get three runs in, I will be happy...:D

Crap I was hoping you would say that we don't need to leave any earlier.

I worked all day and was hoping to sleep in tomorrow, but I will see you there if that's what we need to do.

I really don't know for sure, but the gates do open at 8AM so 7:30 is not too early to get there. You can always take a nap when you get home. :evil

FYI,
I had a good time today seeing you guys and doing a little racing, but as you see I am home early, as planned actually.
Truck ran the best times ever(Hallsville .2 second advantage not counting).
11.73
11.74
11.75
In 20 to 30 MPH head winds.

Best ever 60 fts too.
1.67
1.65
1.67
All this at only 15 psi boost, never put the 3.0 upper on, it was just running too good

I broke out though in the first round on a 11.76 dial, kind of intentially since everything was still together and running great and I was tired of the wind like others that left early too.

Nice meeting some new/future L racers also.

TTT, and that was at full weight too with the bed cover and Tailgate on, so with the wind also, probably 11.5ish runs.

I dont think the tonneau cover and tailgate is going to give you 2 tenths.

Actually it is pretty close .18ish, I have used this many times for tuning/bagging in the past, but the wind was more of the issue. It is a snuglid and they are heavy, Some are really heavy, I could barely lift Sixpipes cover when it was on today:)
