Deleted Mufflers

Anyone here running straight pipes after the cat? No muffler? The Lightning I just got has all 4 stock cats, but then straight pipes out the side. I like the sound quite a bit, but was wondering if I am going to fail inspection. I am pretty sure that in TX we just have OBDII sensors on for inspection, no sniffers anymore. So should I be ok? I don't know the actual law, but I had a buddy get a ticket for "no mufflers" on his cobra awhile back.

I can tell you for sure that not having cats will cause a failure on inspection...regardless of what the computer tells them...so I bet that not having mufflers will have the same result.

:( Well crap. I thought that the cats, being responsible for cleaning the emmissions, would result in failure. But I thought the mufflers didn't really matter that much. Anyone pass without them?

have to have some sort of muffler to pass. But i can get you passed. If not just get the mufflers i have... Not realy a muffler at all but its better than nothing. Dude you knew i was a state inspector
