I'm planning on it, but things may change between now and then. It is always a good time and will definitely be worthwhile next year as well, so my plans are there, though things may change in the next year.

Well I took it into the shop Tuesday, and its still there. So far all they have found wrong with it was a blowin right side head gasket. As far as the transmission goes, they are saying there is nothing wrong with it. They seem to think that my programmer is causing the problem. Its drives fine on the street, its just when you really get in it. Its not doing it all the time though. I have no idea whats going on.

pass side head gasket is VERY common - my 2000 had work done 2 or 3 times under warranty.

Back on topic - Since Dwight is now a Texan, and texas has been a big part of the attendance ( if not the biggest ) for the past few years. we should all get suites at the Lfest Hotel or something

And for those who think a TV in the garage is special, I routed a cable connection to the bathroom so I could listen to/watch F1 qualifying.

Not to play the one upmanship game, but I have had a tv in the bathroom for the last 9 years.. in Dallas and here.. also have satellite, cable and sat radio in the garage, plus its heated tooknana .. when you build, you definitely want to make sure you have all the extras.. so running a little extra cable was well worth the cost.

I'm in for True Street- this will be my 3rd year to do it. I like the whole cruise and drag racing of a true "streetable" truck although there is a few suspect trucks (trailer queens). I'm always liked the escorted cruise with a pack of L's:cool:

Out on the BBQ the last two years after I tried it the first two. I would beat the KC style BBQ to be better than than Topeka style:vomit:though

It depends on what you want to do. There is test and tune that yoiu can do without signing up for any racing class. The True Street Truck class that does the parade lap is supposed to be fun.

I think you are OK-Per the rules
TIRES & WHEELS
DOT approved and marked tires, front and rear, required during the road cruise and drag strip runs. Tires may not be changed after road cruise. Tire size is limited to whatever tire fits into the fender opening. Tire tread may not have less than 1/8" depth tread pattern and may not protrude outside of rear fender area more than one (1) inch. Metal, screw-in valve stems mandatory on all cars running 11.99 or quicker and using tubeless tires.

I'm not much of a bracket racer either, just don't have the patience for it. I signed up for the True Street Truck as well. I drive my truck on the street all the time, in fact I've only been to the track twice in 6 months. I know there will be folks in that class that are anything but "street" trucks, but to each their own. It'll be fun regardless.

I'm not a paid NLOC member either, I just paid the $75 fee instead of $60 for members. The membership is $30 I believe.

I hope so, from what I hear its a blast. I just wish that dang sea-doo would sell. Then I wouldn't have to worry about money, and I could get a few things done to the L.

I might have to make LFest this year. :banana:There can never be enough RED Gen. 2 Ls in one place. :D

If there is any interest, I can make a call or 3 and see if we can't arrange a Freightliner and a rented stretch flat-bed for L-transport up-and-back to KC.

Dustin is an owner-operator and is fully licensed/insured. Some of you may remember him as the big-guy with me at the last TALON Classic.

Welcome to the club bro! Sounds like there's gonna be a pretty decent contingent of Gen 1's going this year. I gotta warn you though, the G1's ride a little stiffer, than the G2's, especially through Oklahoma.;)

I am going to be real bothered that whole damned weekend, but the company has to come first. The last thing I am going to spend money on right now is race related.

I'm out also Rocks. I will be calling to cancel my room this week. With the rain that we have had we have lots of overtime that I cannot afford to miss out on. I was also burning my last week of vacation to go to lightningfest. So this will give me some vacation days in case I get sick this winter. (it really sucks working outside all day in the freezing rain when you are already sick) Ok I think I have convinced myself I'm doing the right thing. It will definately suck missing this lightningfest.
