here's problobly a dumb question ! but why are you having to replace the washers and cams ? are they pematurely wearing or is it a performance benefit ?

'Cam' bolts are commonly referred to as camber bolts. They allow the front end to be properly aligned within factory specs. Otherwise you get ricer camber in which you are using about 14.596% of the actual tread pattern. :rolleyes:
The washers are a fix for the 'clunk' that is common to our trucks. I've never experienced the clunk so maybe another member can be of more assistance.

Curtis what gives with the mph in your trap speed? 102mph seems way low given the 399rwhp. Even with the heat I wouldn't expect you to lose 6-8 mph. Great numbers though! Wow.

LOTSA SPIN 1st and 2nd. 2.1 60 at ennis. 8.75 1/8th mile with that 1/4 time. I picked up almost 1.5 mph at denton and 1.94 60 ft and a 8.56.

Ken,
The lower control arm bolt is a slotted hole allowing for adjustment of the camber. 99/00 models (maybe others) have an issue with the bolt "walking" in the slotted hole because it can't be tightned enough.
You usually hear the "clunk" when turning into a uphill drive to the left or something along those lines. Some have welded the bolt into place :eek2: or added star washers (Ford's fix) to keep the bolt from sliding in the slotted hole.
The best fix in my opinion is "Herb's washers" that fill the slot and only allow the bolt to pass through. Once you do that there is no way to get the camber adjusted correctly except replacing the upper control arm bolts with "cam bolts" from NAPA.
Overall is is a cheap and easy fix. Just make sure you get everything aligned after performing the fix.

after posting on the board i have been under my truck trying to understand what everyone was talking about but you just solved all my concerns.
have not had the noise yet but now i know how to fix it when and if it arrizes.
