A good friend of mine has a yellow-and-white one. He's drives it from Texas to Florida and then Massuchusetts regularly. He loves it.

I've ridden in it. It's a nice little sportster - albeit it's not a Cooper S.

I have a black/silver Cooper S at work with Wilwood Brakes.

Not a bad looking little car, imo.

Yes, I know something about them... They're gay. Butt-****ing gay. But, then, that's just my opinion. Thinking of driving one? Then you're gay too.

'nuff said.

Hmm... That's not going to win me any friends eh... Damn... Oh well...

;)

You might be surprised. There is more room in a mini cooper than in my Mustang. They are pretty fun cars too.

im 6ft 4 and fit in my ex g/fs cooper s just fine. They are fun cars to drive. Like driving a go cart. But the cooper s is the only way to go.

Based on what I have read that is surprising. Here are some stats that I have found.

Mini Cooper S
161 hp @ 6000 rpm
155 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm
0-60 7.4 seconds
1/4 mile - 15.4 sec. @ 90.4 mph

Ford Focus SVT
170 hp @ 7000 rpm
145 lb-ft @ 5500 rpm
0-60 7.5 sec
1/4 mile - 15.9 sec @ 90.2 mph

It looks to me like it would be a driver's race. Of course your car may very well not be stock too :D

Gagspa,

Your Bullitt is fricking sweet. I love those deep dish wheels with DR's on them, it really sets the a$$ end of that car off!!! That sucker looks PHAT!!!:tu:

There was a huge display of Mini's at the NAIAS last January in Detroit. Larger than any other display by any foreign manufacturer.

I sat in one. Very comfortable, but then again I'm 5'6". But then my friend and his dad sat in one. They are both ~6'3"+. Again, they said they were very comfortable...and looked it.

I think the car is underpowered, but that's just me.

Whats done to your focus and you want some drop springs for it?

Its a drivers race between those to. The problem with the mini s is that its a drive by wire system so you can mash the gas pedal but the signal goes to throttle body and only opens so fast either way. That makes them sluggish. You can get a different tune and it fixes that and makes them much more faster. Ill race you in my friends stock mini s :D

But i dont know how many times i raced my friends modded svt focus and i walked him with a stock mini S. But my friends tell me i can rip some gears better than most they have seen.

Thanks. I have to say that it was probably the best cosmetic mod that I ever did. I love the look and wish that I hadn't waited so long to do it.

The Mini S is bad to the bone as long as you don't mind a slow car. They actually have more power than they are rated at because they are actually rated at the wheels....still slow. They are a world class sports car....that's slow. I would own one but the insurance is almost as much as all my cars put together (including the L) and they don't make an auto. My wife said I could have one if was automatic. An automatic (non S) mini is a too much of a turd. I live in an area that is full of canyons and somehow I don't think Texas is as mountainous as Southern CA. They turn and stop like a shifter cart (if you have ever driven one of those- 0-100-0 in less than 10 seconds). Anyway, cool car, not for men with issues with their masculinity and a little slow.

As a follow-up, the Mini-S driver I spoke with last week has the "John Cooper Works" pkg. on his Mini-S.

http://www.johncooper.co.uk/JohnCooperSite/pages/home/default.asp?&cookie%5Ftest=1

I heard this S/C whine (sorta' like a pissed-off bee-hive), I look around and see this Mini wheeling in the parking garage and parking. :d

We spoke at length. He knew of the L and it's capabilities. :burnout:
