Terry, i went to denton raceway last night, and i about:vomit: on my time slips 8.64:mad: this trans still will not shift out of 2nd to 3rd with out going deep into the red (5600to 5700rpm) , i would like the #'s on the block to match the #'s on the truck but still have a little fun with it, but 8.64 is what i ran with just a chip & filter( the old blue chip tune b/4 you re-flashed it) now it has a 4# lower and 2.75 upper, single blade t/b. what do you recommend?, i would like to get right around 8.20 to 8.30 area.

1.97ish, about the same when i ran a 8.43. My main concern is the shift point. It's forcing me to back out of it with about 60ft to go.

I'm also thinking that 14* of timing @ 11.2 a/f is to rich. But then again i think that's what Terry re-flashed it @ so i'm sure that's a good safe street tune, but not what i'm looking for @ the track, Im sure what he will recommend is a x/cal with 3.0 so i can adjust my shift points. So that way i don't have to adjust my bank acct.. But we'll see:tu:

Do you have flip chip or a single chip? If it's single, you've got to live witha street tune at the track. You can't drive around on a lean tune in everyday driving, it will go boom sooner or later, especially in the cool weather. The new engine will be a heck of a lot more expensive than a tuner or a flip chip.

If you don't want to drop the coin on the new SCT, you could definitely benefit from the SCT x-cal. It's a bit cheaper than the new SCT and can still allow you to house several tunes and flash whichever benefits you at the time.

I was running one before Terry got me the new SCT tuner, I upgraded mostly because it has a bit more flexibility and also scans/clears engine codes.

I have a x-cal for sale if Terry doesn't have any laying around to sell you and you decide to go that route.

I believe Terry can do that in the tune, Don't quote me tho. We'll see if he has any older ones laying around that he needs to move before I sell you mine.....I don't wanna go hawking stuff on his board without giving him the right of first refusal.

Let's see what T wants to do and go from there. What sayeth you Terry ?

Agreed:cool: . O yah, terry, can you take a looky @ my wifes 99 winstar she's complaining about a check engine light being on. I think i know what it is. Hard to explain, you'll have to see it in order to know what i'm talking about. I'm having one of these :hammer: again

I don't remeber what we flashed on the chip? Do you have the code, it should have a lable on the chip you can see. We can try another file maybe or go with SCT. Most of the blue chips and my SCTs are set to shift at 5370-5400rpm. Unless it happens to be an unusual blue chip file it should be shifting at 5400 if not it is tranny slippage. Yeah we can check the wifes car.

We can try a J39 single program. Those are a good all around driving tune.

What's the differance between the two?.
