OK...so we haven't seen very many posts recently, so it looks like the overwhelming majority are interested in a weekend meeting rather than a weekday.

Decisions are as follows for now:

1) We will have lunch/dinner on a monthly basis only with some additional events sprinkled in, say quarterly.
2) The meeting will be held on Saturday, unless we get a lot more opinions to cause this to change BEFORE we finalize the schedule...once the schedule is finailed we will not revisit it during the year

Now I am still in search of some answers and opinions on these items:

1) Venue(s)?...one venue or several in the same area like we did this year? Where?
2) Lunch or dinner for the Saturday meetings?
3) Which Saturday of the month (1st, 2nd, etc)?
4) Ideas for the quarterly activity to add a little fun...go-carting seems to be a fun one, but I need some of your opinions for other activities...

I need you guys to tell me what you want to do. I don't want to make unpopular decisions to the detriment of the club, so please let me know what you guys want and I'll work out the details.

I like the idea of the a Saturday meeting once in a while, maybe every quarter like somebody already mentioned. When and if we do Saturdays it needs to be in the morning or afternoon, because theres no way we are going be able to get a venue for a large crowd on a Saturday evening. Just thinking from a practical standpoint.

I still think we need to split up the locations. If I'm coming from the South west of the Metroplex driving to east Irving is pretty much just as hard to do as driving to North of Dallas. I used to come to the Bonedaddy's meetings just as often as this years "convenient for everybody" Irving meetings which works out to be about every 3rd of 4 meeting. It would be nice to have a convenient location every once in a while. A rotation of North Dallas, Arlington, and Irving would be a good choice or something like that. If I remember right some of the biggest meetings we have had has been in Arlington with 30+ trucks.

I will never make a Saturday dinner event,
and very unlikely to make any Saturday monthly event.

Our Bullitt club usually meets once a month on Saturdays in the morning (11:00ish). That way we beat the rush and can find easy parking together. I'm game for whatever but prefer Saturday mornings closer to Arlington.

I know whatever decision is made will not please everyone. That is why it is crucial for you to provide input. If you have an opinion about this topic post up! If you don't say anything about it now, you don't have the right to bitch about it when the decisions are made.

The decisions I mentioned are still tentative, so they can change, but I NEED YOUR OPINIONS!!! Speak up, everyone. If I don't get very much input from the group, then I am going to take the opinions I do get and take them to the club's forefathers and we will make the decisions and that'll be it. I want this to be as democratic as possible, but if people don't speak up them it will turn into a monarchy. Choice is yours.

Saturdays were the best option for me but I just found out today that I will be working Saturdays now. Thanks to the new AT&T :hammer: . My off day is Thursday most weeks so that would be best for me.

Tom.
You know my situation I work evenings and off usually Sunday. Thats why I can't make monthly too often unless I happen to be on vacation. For that reason I don't worry about where thry are. However I do feel you want be able to please everyone, not even that in the middle stuff. Someone lives closer to that area than others. I honsetly think it will have to rotate between East ,middle & West to be less of a hassle and less crying about it. Sure it maybe a little confusing ,but adult boys w/ big boy toys will be able to figure it out. No one will be left out when they have to drive to 2 of the other areas.
If the people from the Dallas won't drive to the Tarrant County meets, and the Tarrant County people won't drive to the Dallas side, then you will see how little compassion there is amoung the L brothren .One group should not have a problem with driving to the other groups if they drive to yours. IMO Plus the meeting don't have to be in the deepest area of the county. For example, one of the Tarrant County meet maybe in Bedford/Hurst/Grapevine areas since its closer to Dallas County and still 20 minutes from downtown.Same with the Dallas County meets. If we did the rotating days & places it would give everyone more of an opportunity to make some of the meets if not all. For example,if the meets were Sat/Sun morning I cold make some,If it was Sat/Sun evening I could not make Sat. No L brothern should have a problem with rotating if it gives your fellow brothern a better chance to participate. Good luck with this..again.

Tom.....

I have to say, I have some thoughts on this, but since I am running all over hell and back racing and end up only making a few meets here and there, I have been hesitant to post my opinion.

But you dragged it out of me...:D . I still believe the best place for the meets is central. I can't understand why we have to make this so damned complicated. The central points have worked well...for the most part. We changed the meets to Wed. and the attendance went to sh!t. The only change that needs to be made...is to change it back to Thursday.

I believe the Saturday meets will have crap for attendance. Between family obligations and yard work...it won't happen.

To sum it up.... My vote is to keep it for Thursday and keep the spot in the Northwest Highway area.
